The NBA is the most popular basketball league in the world. The National Basketball Association also known as the NBA was founded in the year 1946 and was named as the Basketball Association of America BAA but after 3 years from the 1949 to 1956,  changed its name to National Basketball League NBL.  

At present about 30 teams are a part of the NBA where 29 teams are situated in the United States of America and one is from Canada.  Each team plays about 82 games during the regular season and the winners of each conference advance to the final where both the conference teams play to determine the NBA winner.

Chicago Bulls vs Atlanta Hawks – 62,046 Attendance

The game between the Chicago Bulls and the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA on 27th March 1998 recorded the highest-ever attendance in basketball history as 62046 fans turned up to watch the game in the stadium where Michael Jordan was the man of the Georgia stadium who ruled the game and help his team seal the victory.

The Chicago Bulls beat the Atlanta Hawks at the Georgia Dome where the world almost turned up to see the prime Michael Jordan show his heroics on the field of play and this created a world record that is yet to be broken.

Detroit Pistons vs Boston Celtics – 61,983 Attendance

Throwback to 10 years from the match which recorded the highest ever attendance, stands the 2nd highest Attendance ever recorded in the NBA as the Detroit Pistons were all set to meet the Boston Celtics on 20th January 1988 at the Pontiac Silverdome which was the home court of the Detroit Pistons. 

The fans turned up in numbers just to see the rivalry between the two legends Isiah Thomas and Larry Bird who were on top of their game at that time.

The home team, the Detroit Pistons emerged as the eventual winners and most of the fans thought of it as the greatest match between Larry Bird and Isiah Thomas.

Philadelphia 76ers vs Detroit Pistons – 52,745 Attendance

Throwback to a year for the Detroit Pistons, on 14th February 1987, The Detroit Pistons and the Pontiac Silverdome were a part of history again as they saw the third highest attendance ever in basketball when the Philadelphia 76 yers were all set to meet them.

The Detroit Pistons can never disappoint when the game was all set to be held at the Silverdome and the same happened as the hosts went on to win the match by 125 – 107 just because of the heroics presented by Adrian Dantley who went on to score 35 points to seal the victory for his team.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Denver Nuggets – 49,551 Attendance

The match between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Denver Nuggets in the NBA saw a record of almost 50 thousand fans showing up at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome.

It was a great contest as the home fans of Minnesota turned up in numbers and expected their team to emerge victorious. Emotions took a turn for the home fans as the Denver Nuggets pulled out a great 10-point victory over the Hosts.

Atlanta Hawks vs Detroit Pistons – 47,692 Attendance

You know it would be record-breaking if the Detroit Pistons were gearing up to play at the Pontiac Silverdome. This was another match of the Detroit Pistons against the Atlanta Hawks on 30th March 1988 at the Silverdome which was just a month after they had broken their previous record.

Just imagine the number of records that could have been broken only if the Detroit Pistons never had the Silverdome demolished. This time, the Detroit Pistons had to face a defeat and the home fans had to go home heartbroken.

Atlanta Hawks vs Chicago Bulls – 45,790

Another match of the Atlanta hawks at the Georgia Dome saw a big crowd of 45,790 on 7th November 1997 as the hosts met the Chicago Bulls again. You know the contest is going to be record breaking if the Hawks and the Bulls meet inside the court. 

Just imagine how many more records could have been made today only if the Gerogia Dome had not been demolished in November 2017. This time, the Hawks came out victorious as they went on to win the match by a mere 2 points.
