In cricket, the Man of the Match or the Player of the Match award is given to a single player who has shown an exceptional performance on the field and was the best player for the team and in the game. The term man of the match was first used by cricket then other sports also took up the name and started using it.

 A man of the match is usually given to a player from the winning side who puts up an exceptional performance and helps his team win but on an occasion when a player from the losing side puts up a heroic fight and single-handedly carries the team, he can also be given the man of the match award.

Virat Kohli is an active Indian international cricketer who is the former captain of the Indian cricket team and the Indian Premier League franchise Royal challengers Bangalore.

He is widely considered as one of the greatest batsmen of the era and surely one of the greatest in the history of cricket. He also holds the record of scoring the most number of centuries in the one day international format as he has 50 centuries on his name.
