Rayford Trae Young, born September 19, 1998, is an American professional basketball player for the National Basketball Association (NBA)’s Atlanta Hawks.
He was a member of the Oklahoma Sooners throughout his undergraduate career. With 22 single-game assists in 2017, he tied the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I record.
Young became the first player in NCAA history to lead the NCAA in both points and assists in the same season. He was picked with the fifth choice in the 2018 NBA draught by the Dallas Mavericks, and was then traded to the Atlanta Hawks, along with a future first-round pick, for the draught rights to Luka Doni.
He was named to the 2019 NBA All-Rookie First Team alongside Doni. He has won two times NBA All-Star.
