When the WAVE 3 News team arrived, Christi Mack was preparing supper for their three children, 13-year-old Lainee, 12-year-old Hailee, and 3-year-old Brayden. Dad couldn’t go since he had a business function.

Christi stated that she cooks at home most evenings and prepares basic foods. Monday night’s dinner was spaghetti with rotisserie chicken, which they all ate after praying.

Chris Mack was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and grew up in North College Hill, a Cincinnati suburb. He graduated from St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati in 1988, when he was voted Cincinnati Post Metro Player of the Year in 1987-88.

Mack went on to play basketball for two seasons at the University of Evansville.

Mack began his coaching career in 1993 as the junior varsity head coach at McAuley High School, an all-girls high school in Cincinnati. Mack was selected head coach of the girls varsity basketball team at Mount Notre Dame High School in Reading, Ohio, in 1995, and he was voted Cincinnati Post Coach of the Year in 1996.
